FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the maximum level of noise expected at work?

Depending on the country, we consider that hearing is at risk starting at 80 dB(A) for a working day of eight hours. If the noise level is higher, exposure should be of a shorter duration. If the level is extremely high (above 135 dB(A)), any exposure, even for a very short duration, is dangerous. In order to control this potential risk, you must identify, define and measure different sources of noise (e.g. machinery, tools, voice, etc.).
