Large sports stadiums, exhibition centers, high rise buildings, bridges and specialty structures are becoming more complex requiring more project “visibility” into project operations for owners and end-users. It has become essential to verify the quality of structural steel components during erection to assure they are durable, safe and perform as designed. When project success is driven by such factors as: effective use of project funding, project cost, and the use of geographically diverse vendors, it becomes necessary to provide independent, third-party conformity assessment of structural steel materials during erection. With clients including private developers and State and Local government agencies, the focus on conformity assessment will minimize costly project delays and help assure adherence to industry standards and client specifications.
What is Site Inspection?
Site Inspection typically includes: visual review of completed site welded connections; review of field welded connections during erection; Ultrasonic review of all full penetration, field welded splice connections; monitor the installation procedures of high strength bolted connections; review previously fastened high strength bolted connections; witness the application of fireproofing to structural members; and conformance reviews of structural steel members (already fabricated) delivered to the Project Site.
